The former Toronto parking enforcement officer who gained notoriety on twitter by documenting vehicles disobeying road signs is running for city council. Kyle Ashley is a long time cycling advocate who recently quit his police enforcement job. He plans to take on Councillor Jaye Robinson in the new ward 27 in the fall municipal election. The 30 year old said traffic safety issues would be the “bread and butter” of his campaign, he’d also raise issues like affordable housing and social programs to combat racial-based violence. This is his first run for public office. Ashley stopped by the Fight Back studio to talk about his passion for road safety with Libby.
