They had to make that promise to get the NDP to support the then minority government . By the time this deadline passed, they had a majority and Premier Kathleen Wynne characterized the promise as a “stretch goal.” A report by the province’s auto insurance adviser found that the average auto insurance premium in Ontario is $1,458, which is almost 55 per cent higher than the average of all other Canadian jurisdictions, despite having the lowest level of fatalities.
