Earlier this week we told you about a 99-year old British war veteran who was raising money for the National Health Service by doing laps around his property.
At that point Tom Moore had vastly surpassed the $1,700 dollars he set out to raise.
People all over the world got behind his effort and he’s now raised almost $ 30-million CAD.
Tom was flanked by an honour guard from the First Battalion of the Yorkshire Regiment as his completed his 100th lap.
A petition is now circulating calling for the veteran to receive a knighthood. It’s already got 500,000 signatures and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who himself was treated for COVID-19 by the NHS, says they’re looking at ways to recognize Moore’s efforts.
