The Opposition at Queen’s Park is accusing the Ford government of using voodoo math when it comes to education spending.
The Premier, Doug Ford claims his government has increased education spending to a record high of $1.2 billion. However, that figure represents government’s total spending on education and includes $500-million which is being spent on child care and not on schools.
NDP Education critic Marit Stiles is accusing Education Minister Stephen Lecce of deliberately misleading Ontarians.
To be fair, the money school boards receive has been increased by $130-million this year over last which according to fact checkers represents an increase of just 0.5%
