Changes coming to rapidly growing Liberty Village!
The province has announced plans to extend the West Toronto Railpath trail south to King West.
West T.O. Railpath
Currently, it runs along the Kitchener GO tracks from Dupont to Dundas Street but will be extended to just east of the Dufferin Street Bridge, which is being expanded to add track for more frequent service along the Barrie GO corridor.
The expansion will cost at least $8.4-million and take one year to complete.
The extension of the trial will run thorough a new park the city’s building north of Queen and Dufferin Streets – Dufferin Peel Park.
Mayor John Tory says it’s the kind of project that will serve ”this community and the whole city for years to come, for decades to come.  It will help us get around.  It will help build this neighbourhood up.  It will help encourage renewal and development and investment.”
