The race for the White House now shifts to the state of New York, where both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are trying to seize on their home state advantage to reverse recent setbacks.

Trump and Clinton still maintain wide delegate leads in the Republican and Democratic nominating contests. Both will be working to win New York on April 19th to cut off the momentum of their opponents, Ted Cruz and Bernie Sanders respectively.

But in the case of the democratic nomination, political strategist Michael Diamond told Jane Brown yesterday on Zoomer Radio’s Fight Back With Libby Znaimer, New York is up in the air.

“That’s really an indictment of Hillary Clinton and how weak she is in this campaign. There’s no way that Bernie Sanders who may’ve lived in the state longer than Hillary Clinton, but that was an awful long time ago. Hillary Clinton is a two time elected United States senator from New York should be in no position to be in a close race in New York City. Even a close race shows huge momentum on the Sanders side,” Diamond explained.

Donald Trump, meantime, is planning to respond to the onslaught of negative attention with a series of more polished policy speeches and endorsements from Republic county chairman in New York.
