The new BlackBerry 10 smartphone is dominating chatter on social media.  The BlackBerry Z10 and Q10 were unveiled yesterday in Manhattan by CEO Thorsten Heins.

Figures from “salesforce.com Marketing Cloud” suggest there were more than 100-thousand online mentions in the hours after the launch.

The surveying company says the buzz was 70 per cent positive for the new device from the former Research in Motion, now known only as BlackBerry.

Avi Greengard is an American tech analyst.  He says the BlackBerry 10 catches up to some of its competitors, such as Apple and Samsung.  “A person can buy a BlackBerry and not be embarrassed, relative to some of the other devices on the market.”  He says the BlackBerry 10 is targeted to consumers who “prioritize their email and messaging and phone calls above access to every last app.”

You’ll be able to buy the new BlackBerry Z10 in Canada this coming Tuesday February 5th.  Americans have to wait until March to purchase it.
