The nominees have been announced for the Canadian non-fiction books competing for the latest Hilary Weston Prize of $60,000 .
Finalists include Toronto’s “Kamal Al-Solaylee” for “Intolerable: A Memoir of Extremes.”
Two more Toronto writers are nominated: Modris Eksteins for “Solar Dance” and Taras Grescoe for “Straphanger”
A jury selected five Weston nominees from the 104 titles submitted.
The $60,000 prize will be given out in Toronto on Nov. 12.
Each of the shortlisted writers receives $5,000.
