It was a simple toy, far from the technology of today. In fact, it can be traced to ancient times.

 

The spinning top now has a permanent new place in the National Toy Hall of Fame.

It’s been inducted along with Lite–Brite and Masters of the Universe action figures.

The trio of honorees was chosen from a field of 12 finalists that also included Zoomer favourites Bingo, Nerf, and Spirograph.

The hall of fame in Rochester recognizes toys that have inspired creativity and endured over time and anyone can nominate a toy.
