Seems Vladimir Putin is not being kept in the loop.
Citing declassified intelligence, a Biden administration spokesperson says the Russian president was misled by advisers who were too afraid to tell him how poorly the war in Ukraine is going and how damaging Western sanctions have been.
”We have information that Putin felt misled by the Russian military,” leading him to mistrust the leadership, according to White House communications director Kate Bedingfield.
”Putin didn’t even know his military was using and losing conscripts in Ukraine, showing a clear breakdown in the flow of accurate information to the Russian president,” she added.
Meanwhile, President Joe Biden has told Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy that another $500-million in aid was on its way to Ukraine.
