IN MEMORIAM 2023
It’s been another year of sad losses of recording artists who touched us, moved us, entertained us – and who have now passed. Their music remains, but for many, their stories and even their songs may eventually fade away. There are the legendary superstars like Tony Bennett and Tina Turner, Gordon Lightfoot and Robbie Robertson, Burt Bacharach, Harry Belafonte and David Crosby – whose names will shine forever.
But there were so many others who once made their mark, and deserve a final farewell – and to, at least briefly. tell their story. People like Daniel Boone, Ed Ames, Barrett Strong, Astrud Gilberto, Jane Birkin, Randy Meissner, Sixto Rodriguez, Chad Allan, Myles Goodwyn, Denny Laine and Shane MacGowan.
‘In Memoriam 2023’ – is my annual year-end salute to those we’ve lost. I hope you’ll tune in for the music, the memories and the ‘magic’ each, once gave to us. This special edition of Vintage Favourites is this Sunday, December 31st. from 2:00 to 4:30. And may you have a very happy New Year, and a healthy prosperous 2024.
