GORDON LIGHTFOOT – IN MEMORIAM
It was such sad news when earlier this week we heard of Gordon Lightfoot’s death. Suddenly a flood of memories came rushing in – especially for those of us who’ve seen him in concert – but true as well for anyone who’s ever heard a Lightfoot song. Our ‘national treasure’ – a yearning troubadour – with his magical melodies and captivating lyrics; he’ll stay forever in our hearts and minds. Please join me for a 90 minute tribute to Gordon beginning after the 3 o’clock news.
In the show’s first hour (2-3pm.) we’ll have ‘Our Sunday Best – A Century of #1 HIts’ – spanning the decades with chart-toppers by Rudy Vallee and Glenn Miller, Elvis Presley, Herman’s Hermits and Sinead O’Connor’ – and the ‘Story Behind the Song‘ ‘American Woman’ by The Guess Who. That’s all this Sunday (May 7th) 2-4:30.
