All during this year, I’m spotlighting various music genres that combined to create our pop music landscape during the ‘vintage era’. To date we’ve explored the blues, rhythm & blues, doo-wop and soul, country crossovers, rockabilly and the folk revival of the 1950s. Last weekend, we also marked the 77th birthday of Bob Dylan – one of the pivotal figures in music history…
Now I’ll bring it together – the folk revival that helped create Dylan, and then the aftermath of Dylan’s momentous decision to plug in and go ‘big’. The emergence of the ‘Folk-Rock’ genre in the mid-60s resulted in a very exciting time – and that’s where we’re going this Sunday – May 27th – with the Vintage Favourites’ ‘Folk-Rock Edition’ – from Zoomer Radio. Join me. Cheers, Gene.
