Meanwhile, late last week, the province indicated that it was easing certain restrictions at nursing homes including allowing residents who have been fully vaccinated to leave for day and overnight excursions. ONTARIO TO START ECONOMIC REOPENING PROCESS ON FRIDAY

Dr. Vaisman reacts to the province’s announcement that it will begin its economic reopening plan this Friday. Meanwhile, Ontario is faced with the emergence of a new variant known as B.1.617 which was first discovered in India and is more transmissible than the UK variant. Now, public health experts are urging for the prioritization of second doses in Peel Region where it is expected that this will be the dominant strain in the coming weeks.
