Following nearly three-months of treatment for an undisclosed type of cancer, King Charles III will resume public duties next week after Buckingham Palace also announced his doctors are ”sufficiently pleased” with the 75-year-old monarch’s treatment.

In a media release a spokesperson says the treatment’s ongoing and that ”it is too early to say” how much longer it will go on.

”His Majesty’s medical team are very encouraged by the progress made so far and remain positive about The King’s continued recovery,” the statement reads.

The King and Queen will jointly visit a cancer treatment centre Tuesday; the first of several appearances he’s expected to make in coming weeks.

One of his first scheduled major engagements will be hosting a state visit by the emperor and empress of Japan in June.
