With the 12 person jury and six alternates finally chosen, the stage is set for the first criminal trial of a former U.S. president.

The judge says lawyers will present opening statements Monday morning before prosecutors start laying out their case, alleging a scheme to cover up negative stories Donald Trump feared would hurt his initial presidential campaign in 2016.

He faces 34 felony counts of falsifying business records.

Trump may get up to 4-years in prison if convicted, though it’s unclear of the judge would opt for that.

Plus, he’d almost certainly appeal any conviction.

Trump’s involved in four criminal case, though it’s not clear any others will reach trial before the November election.

Just as the jury was seated, emergency crews responded a park across the street, where a man had set himself on fire.

He first walked into the park, took out pamphlets espousing conspiracy theories, spread them around the park, then doused himself in an accelerant and set himself on fire.

The man’s in critical condition in a burn unit.

It’s believed he came up from Florida in the past few days.
