Starting with the carjacking of a blue BMW X-5 near Kennedy-Ellesmere Roads on April 6, and then the carjacking of a white Lamborghini at a Yonge-Sheppard gas station April 11, officers found both high-end vehicles in an Islington-Steeles parking lot the next evening.
But as officers moved in, the driver of the BMW SUV tried to avoid arrest by reversing up a hill, smashing into several police vehicles and narrowly missed the officers.
Along with the vehicles, police recovered three guns and more than $18,000 in cash.
A 21-year-old Mississauga man, a 19-year-old from Oakville and 17-year-old from Oshawa face 54 charges.
So far this year police say there have been 97 carjackings in Toronto, more than double the 46 grabbed during the same period last year.
