Meet Maxine (Max) and Baelfire (Bae), an inseparable duo of canine companions who share an unbreakable bond! Bae, a 7-year-old male, is a Korean Jindo mix, while Max, a 4-year-old female, is a delightful Beagle mix. Together, they make an extraordinary team!

Both Max and Bae are seeking a forever home where they can stay together. Since their first encounter, they have enriched each other’s lives in remarkable ways. Max serves as a calming presence for Bae, helping him manage his anxiety, while Bae brings out the best in Max, tempering her exuberant nature.

Max thrives on physical activity and delights in outdoor adventures. Affectionate and sociable, she easily connects with adults, children, and fellow canines. While she hasn’t interacted much with other domestic animals, her playful demeanor and love for toys and outdoor exploration are unmistakable. Although she may occasionally pull on the leash or bark when excited, Max responds well to firm commands and quickly settles down.

Rescued from a meat market in Korea in 2018, Bae arrived in Toronto in 2019. Despite his traumatic past, Bae exudes gentleness and sweetness. He may exhibit some skittish behavior due to his previous experiences, but he is never aggressive. When faced with anxiety triggers like rainstorms or loud noises, Bae seeks solace in a cozy corner and may whine or scratch at the floor. However, a gentle approach and reassurance always help soothe his nerves. Unlike Max’s exuberance, Bae’s affection is more reserved, as he prefers to wait for an invitation before approaching. He values his personal space and often retreats to his favorite doggy cushion for rest. While generally quiet, Bae dutifully alerts his humans to approaching visitors or unfamiliar dogs with a bark, showcasing his innate Jindo guard dog instincts.
