A massive new report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change says global warming is damaging oceans, glaciers and permafrost at a pace that’s outstripping the ability of governments to keep up.
The report concludes oceans are rising faster and faster,
becoming more acidic and warmer at a pace that has doubled
The IPCC says those changes are directly affecting human health.
These include outbreaks of vibrio poisoining — causing gastrointestinal illness from shellfish living in warm water.
The decreased catch of fish and seafood will impact nutrition for people in the Arctic and coastal areas.
