It’s not officially winter yet but Mother Nature is testing us. Torontonians began digging out Saturday after close to 9 cm of snow fell in the GTA overnight. A snow plow struck a gas line in Scarborough Saturday morning prompting the evacuation of a nearby store and apartment above. It happened near Kingston Road and Morningside Avenue. No injuries were reported however police say there’s been a fairly large gas leak. A TTC bus was brought to the area to shelter residents displaced from their homes. Police responded to over 100 car crashes overnight. Dozens of flights at Pearson Airport have been delayed or cancelled. Police charged 20 people with impaired driving overnight and over 500 since the Christmas RIDE campaign launched in November.
