The verdict is out on whether this news will make your empty nest more attractive to potential buyers. One expert says the Royal Bank’s decision to slightly decrease its fixed mortgage rates may lead other banks to follow suit. But Edmonton broker Jason Scott says the change simply brings RBC closer to rates already being offered by some other lenders. He’s advising homeowners to watch the strength of the U-S economy and changes in bond markets saying they tend to have a greater impact on interest rates than any incremental change by one lender.
