One of the most influential songs of all time, and the first rock’n’roll song to hit #1 on the charts, was recorded 65 years ago this week in 1954 by Bill Haley and his Comets. ‘Rock Around the Clock’ has a fascinating story, with several versions including one recorded BEFORE Haley. And did you know there were other songs with the same title ? I’m Gene Stevens – join me for the story of ‘how we got to rock around the clock’.

Plus: our continuing spotlight on the greatest groups of our time brings us to Earth, Wind & Fire, while ‘Vintage Canadiana’ salutes Bobby Curtola and Molly Johnson. That’s all on the next ‘Vintage Favourites’ Sunday at 2, from Zoomer Radio.
