TOPIC – chronic insomnia
INFO – sleep is essential for regeneration and recuperation. However, many people, especially older adults, have difficulty getting enough sleep. Sleep deprivation has been linked with many negative health outcomes, including high blood pressure, weight gain, memory problems, and decreased immune function. Treatment is available to combat sleep dysfunction. Medications can be used as needed for a short period of time, but correcting the cause of the sleep difficulty and having good sleep hygiene are the keys to long-term sleep improvement.
