Today, Toronto’s Mayor called on the police to start an enforcement blitz cracking down on people who continue to gather in groups in public places despite emergency orders. There’s a new provincial law mandating that we must identify ourselves to police and special constables. Refusing to do that carries a $750 fine. And, the penalties for flouting some of the other emergency measures run as high as half a million dollars. What about our civil liberties?
