Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was at the final Tragically Hip show on Saturday night in Kingston which was broadcast,  livestreamed with an extradoniary 11.7 million people watching the show adding to this huge audience were radio listeners as well. The band’s lead singer Gord Downie gave a shout-out to the Prime Minister between songs calling on him to take action on behalf of Canada’s Indigenous people, saying that he expected Trudeau would have plenty of time to do it. ” adding “He’s going to be looking good for about at least 12 more years. I don’t know if they let you go beyond that. But he’ll do it,” Downie told concert-goers. But, should celebrities be using their star power for politics?
