First, the notorious Rob Ford Crack video is released to the public – then a  suspected ISIS sympathizer, believed to be the lone suspect in a suicidebomb plot on a major Canadian city was killed yesterday during a dramatic takedown by a group of counter terrorism officers in Strathroy Ontario.

Aaron Driver, 23, was killed inside a home in Strathroy and was well known to Canadian intelligence and police officials for his support for an Islamist terrorist group. According to an internal government memo, the suspect allegedly planned to carry out a suicide bombing mission in a public area. His alleged plan, according to the document, was to create mass casualties. The RCMP has not revealed which city was allegedly targeted. Security officials say there is no longer a threat to national security.

Canada’s Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Ralph Goodale said in a statement that he spoke with the PM to confirm that public safety “continues to be properly protected.” And said that Canada’s national terrorism threat level remains at “medium,” where it has been since the fall of 2014.

How safe as a Canadian citizen do you feel? Libby will go in depth to discuss terrorism in Canada with Security Crime Specialist & Expert Ross McLean and we’ll be taking your calls.
