ZOOMER SQUAD: HOW DO THE PARTIES PLANS COMPARE TO THE CARP 5

Jane Brown is filling in for Libby Znaimer today. She is joined by David Cravit, Vice President of Zoomer Media and Chief Membership Officer at CARP, Peter Muggeridge, Senior Editor of Zoomer Magazine and Anthony Quinn, Chief Community Officer and Ontario election lead at CARP.

Today: our Zoomer Squad weighs in on the final days of the Ontario election campaign. And, they assess how each of the parties’ plans compare to the CARP 5 plan.

HOW THE PARTIES PLAN TO ADDRESS ISSUE OF RISING COST OF FOOD

Jane Brown is joined by Dr. Stuart Smyth, Agri-Food Innovation and Sustainability Enhancement Chair at the University of Saskatchewan and Laura Campbell, Ontario Green Party candidate for Dufferin-Caledon.

The Greens, Liberals and NDP have all expressed a desire to address the issue of rising food costs. So, how does each party’s respective plan measure up in tackling this problem? And, are there other global contributing factors that leave it out of the control of the province to fix?

HELPING UKRAINIAN NEWCOMERS TO CANADA

Jane Brown is now joined by Peter Schturyn, President of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress Toronto Branch.

Peter talks about the launch of an online portal by the Ukrainian Canadian Congress Toronto Branch to help provide Ukrainian newcomers to Canada with key information. A second Canadian chartered plane brought over approximately 306 Ukrainians to Montreal this past Sunday from Poland. And, Manitoba has been covering the medical cost of Ukrainian newcomers which they need to update their work permits and get jobs.
