In the news: The federal Liberal government is releasing its fiscal update today as opposition parties call on the government to do something about inflation and the cost of living. Meanwhile, Ottawa is threatening retaliatory tariffs against U.S. over a dispute about electric vehicle tax credit.

Libby Znaimer today is joined by Dr. Jeff Kwong, an epidemiologist and professor at the University of Toronto’s Dalla Lana School of Public Health.

In the news: Kingston has implemented restrictions amid the threat of the Omicron variant, which health experts say is soon to become the dominant strain in Ontario. Should the rest of the province follow suit? And, how else is Omicron different from its Delta variant predecessor. Today, the province reported 1,429 COVID-19 cases, with 385 in hospital and 162 people in the ICU

LTC SURVEY: 76 PERCENT OF RESPONDENTS WOULD OPT FOR NON-PROFIT CARE IN PROVINCE

According to a new Leger Poll  conducted on behalf of AdvantAge Ontario, 76-percent of respondents said they’d like to see more not-for-profit homes being built in Ontario. Lisa explains the results in further detail and reacts to news that long-term care could see new restrictions amid the threat of Omicron.
