Unifor workers are headed for labour peace with Fiat-Chrysler as the two sides reached a tentative deal.

The tentative agreement averts a possible midnight strike at six plants across the country–four in Ontario, one in Montreal and one in Red Deer, Alberta.
The deal was reached just before midnight and includes the return of a third shift at the plant in Windsor and the recalling of workers who had been previously laid off.
“This is, I will argue, a home run for the community of Windsor,” said Dias.
“As vehicles start to roll off the assembly line in 2024, that our third shift will be back. We expect the total jobs will rise to over 2,000 more in the community of Windsor than exists today.”
9,000 union members work at Fiat-Chrysler’s Canadian plants.
Workers will vote on the deal on Sunday.
