Fans of the late music legend Ella Fitzgerald will be delighted to hear of a newly unearthed 1962 concert performance entitled “Ella: The Lost Berlin Tapes.
Among the highlight’s Ella’s rendition of the Classic “Mack the Knife” during which she begins to forget the words.
Norman Granz, who was Ella’s manager and the founder of Verve Records stashed the recordings away.
They were discovered earlier this year and today the Verve Label Group is releasing the album.
Ella Fitzgerald died in 1996 at the age of 79.
