This comes the day after several games were postponed in the wake of the police shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin with many players instead wanting to focus on social justice reform.
First the NBA postponed three games scheduled for today, including the second-round series opener between the Raptors and Celtics.
A group advocating for diversity in hockey is calling on the NHL to postpone its playoff games tonight as well to send a message that human rights take priority over sports.
The Blue Jays are discussing whether to play the Red Sox this evening in Buffalo.
