Ex-White House adviser Steve Bannon’s been arrested and charged, along with three others, with allegedly ripping off donors to an online fundraising scheme ”We Build The Wall.”
The 66-year-old Bannon, faces one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, one of conspiracy to commit money laundering.
Each charge carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.
Bannon served as adviser to the Trump administration until August 2017, nearly a year after he’d assumed the role of Trump campaign chair.
Bannon’s the second former Trump campaign chair to be criminally charged.
He succeeded Paul Manafort, who’s currently serving a sentence for an assortment of bank fraud and witness tampering charges.
