He may be disgraced in North America but one of the world’s greatest opera singers is still revered in Europe.
Placido Domingo will receive a lifetime achievement award in Salzburg next week at what will be his first public appearance since he recovered from COVID-19.
Domingo is to receive Austria’s “Music Prize.”
He’s also scheduled to do three performances in Italy beginning August 22nd.
The 79-year old opera legend saw his U.S. bookings dry up last summer following allegations of sexual harassment from more than 20 women.
He denied the allegations but issued an apology.
