It’s official.

The former Toronto Raptors star, who’s credited with putting basketball on the map in Canada, has announced his retirement.

Vince Carter’s 22-seasons are the most in league history as the 43-year-old also becomes the first NBA player to appear in four decades.

Acquired by Toronto shortly after being selected fifth-overall by Golden State in the 1998 draft, Carter played just over six seasons for the Raptors before trading the eight-time All-Star to New Jersey.

He also played for Orlando, Phoenix, Dallas, Memphis, Sacramento and spent the last two seasons with Atlanta. 

He appeared in 1,541 games, behind only Robert Parrish (1,611) and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (1,560) on the all-time list.

Carter was NBA-Rookie-of-the-Year in 1999 and won the dunk contest at the All-Star game the following year.
