A select group of MPPs will be back at Queen’s Park on Thursday to pass legislation that will help workers deal with the ongoing fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic.
It won’t be a full house that sits but, rather, a group large enough to just make quorum while maintaining the current party ratio.
The PC government says it expects to receive unanimous consent to debate and vote on legislation to provide job protection for workers ordered to stay home due to COVID-19.
Protections will also be extended to people who are forced to stay home from work to take care of family members or of children who are home as schools are closed.
Finance minister Rod Phillips is slated to deliver an economic update instead of a full budget next Wednesday.
