It’s the musical of all musicals, and it’s playing here in Toronto.

CATS has returned to the city which helped to make it iconically famous.

CATS was originally on stage at the Elgin Theatre for two years in the mid 1980s and then again for several months in 1989.

The stage classic has been revamped, with new technology and choreography, but the essence and magic of the original remains.

McGee Maddox and Dan Hoy are two of the stars of the new show in Toronto.

They dropped by the ZoomerPlex for a visit with Zoomer Radio and Classical FM.

Dan explained it’s true that the actors are dressed up as cats, but the show relates on a very human level.

“A lot of people who come to see the show and know the show often say that it’s very relatable, which is weird because it’s a bunch of people dressed up in leotards and wigs and prancing around as cats, and yet Memories happens and people are balling and there’s something oddly human about the piece,” Hoy explained.

CATS is on stage at the Princess of Wales Theatre through January 5th. There’s more information online by clicking here.
