The last time Leonard Cohen appeared in public was in October 2016 at a news conference in Los Angeles for his 14th studio album, “You Want It Darker.”
During that session, Cohen shared some words from a song he’d been working on.
“Listen to the hummingbird
Whose wings you cannot see
Listen to the hummingbird
Don’t listen to me”
Cohen was then asked if the song would appear on his next album, the 82 year old replied “God willing.”  19 days later the Canadian music legend was dead.
Since then, Cohen’s son Adam has finished the “hummingbird” song and seven others all recorded during the sessions that produced “You Want it Darker.”
The new album is called “Thanks for the Dance.”
It’s to be released Friday, November 22nd.
