First it was the NDP, then yesterday the Conservatives and today it’s the Liberal caucus that’s gathered in Ottawa to analyze and reflect on the results of the October election.
In addition to the 157 new and re-elected MPs, defeated ones like former cabinet minister Ralph Goodale are on Parliament Hill.
Goodale, who lost after more than 25 years as MP thinks the Liberals were shut out in Alberta and Saskatchewan because voters there were anxious about jobs.
He believes most Canadians voted for completing the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion and for toughter action on climate change.
Next week, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is to hold one-on-one meetings with each of the other party leaders before deciding whether the new Parliament will get down to work in weeks or months.
Cabinet’s to be unveiled November 20th.
