The Ford government is giving 66 small-sized hospitals and 23 medium-sized ones $68-million dollars to help them deal with what the province calls their ”unique situations and funding challenges.”
Health Minister Christine Elliott says this is new money.
”This money is going to be built into their base now. This is will be money that they can expect from year to year that will help them deal with those deficits and be able to provide the care across the province that people expect and deserve,” Elliott told Zoomer Radio’s ”Fight Back” with Libby Znaimer.
The funding is on top of the $384-million more that all Ontario hospitals received in this year’s provincial budget.
