Bruce Springsteen’s first new studio album in five years is due out June 14.
The Boss says the 13-song disc ”Western Stars,” is largely influenced by the Southern California pop sounds of the late ’60s and early ’70s.
”This record is a return to my solo recordings featuring character-driven songs and sweeping, cinematic orchestral arrangements” said Springsteen in a statement.
”It’s a jewel box of a record.”
The announcement comes just ahead of its first single, ”Hello Sunshine,” which is set to hit streaming services just after midnight tonight.
”Western Stars” follows Springsteen’s 236-show Broadway run which wrapped up last December.
