The Peel Regional Police Service says it’s actively searching for a new chief.

The board for the force serving areas west of Toronto says it’s hired a firm to help with the Canada-wide search to replace chief Jennifer Evans, who announced her retirement earlier this year.

The board says the search will involve public consultations.

A survey for members wanting to weigh in will launch on Monday and be available for three weeks.
