Toronto Police have launched another traffic blitz this time targeting motorists who drive too fast.
Last year, Police say 43% of all fatal collisions took place on roads with posted speed limits above 50 km/h.
Toronto Traffic Sergeant Brett Moore says the lower the speed, the better able you are to survive a collision and as a result, police are focusing on protecting vulnerable road users like pedestrians, older adults, cyclists and motorcyclists.
The “Slow Down Toronto Campaign” begins this morning and runs through next Sunday.
