The former cabinet minister who accused Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of trying to influence her decision in the S-N-C Lavalin criminal case has confirmed she intends to run as a Liberal in the October election.
Jody Wilson-Raybould has written a letter to constituents posted to her website.
She says her story has been a “wake-up call” for Canadians about the “culture of conflict, empty partisanship and cynical games” that exists in Ottawa.
Nonetheless, she said, she plans to stand for re-election as a Liberal.
What’s not clear is if Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will keep Wilson-Raybould in the caucus.
So far he hasn’t commented on her possible future.
