It’s the season for the “The Nutcracker” and this year, the Toronto Maple Leafs are lending a couple of players to the National Ballet of Canada’s production.
Snipers Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner will be trading their hockey sweaters for doll costumes to make cameos as Canon Dolls in the first act.
Also making cameos this year are “Come From Away” creators Irene Sankoff and David Hein, award winning author Emma Donoghue and pastry chef Anna Olson.
Past Canon Dolls have included Zoomer Media’s Libby Znaimer, Classcial FM morning show hosts Mike Duncan and Jean Stilwell, Canadian Astronaut Chris Hadfield, Skater Tessa Virtue and Toronto Mayor John Tory.
The Nutcracker opens Saturday, December 8th at the Four Seasons for the Performing Arts at 2:00 p.m..
