Just a day after the CAA launched its winter driving awareness campaign, drivers in the Georgian Triangle south to Barrie and through northern York and Durham Regions are dealing with a significant taste of winter weather this morning.
Snow streamers coming off Georgian Bay are impacting the morning commute and OPP Sergeant Kerry Schmidt says even if you have winter tires, you have to be careful. He says he is seeing plenty of vehicles with winter tires in the ditch and he is urging everyone to drive according to the conditions.
In a related story; part of safe winter driving involves a full gas tank. If you can hold off on until tomorrow, gas prices are expected to drop an average of 3 cents a litre in the GTA.
