Rotating strikes have resumed at several Canada Post locations after two and a half weeks of mediation failed to produce a breakthrough at the bargaining table.

The union, CUP-W, says the post office isn’t willing to address key concerns like health and safety, overburdening work and equality for rural and suburban mail carriers.

The Crown corporation insists it has made significant offers that include increased wages, improved benefits and job security.

The rotating walkouts resumed last night in the greater Halifax area. Workers are also off the job this morning in Vancouver.

Job action ended early this morning in Gaspe, Quebec.

Last week, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau warned that the federal government may have to act if the three week job action isn’t resolved soon.
