It was 50-years go today, June 6, 1968, 42 year-old presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy died from gunshots wounds suffered 26 hours before.
Kennedy was mortally wounded at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles after winning the California presidential primaries for the 1968 election.
Kennedy was the 42 year old brother of former U-S President John Kennedy who himself was assassinated in Dallas in November of 1963.
A 24-year old Palestinian/Jordanian immigrant named Sirhan Sirhan he was convicted of killing Robert Kennedy and sentenced to death which was commuted to life in prison in 1972.
