Canadian Pacific Railway and the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference have reached a four-year tentative agreement to end a strike, just hours after it started.

Conductors and locomotive engineers will see the details of the agreement before voting on it ”over the coming months,” but Teamsters says picket lines will come down immediately.
The union, that represent the more than 3,000 workers, says operations should be back to normal by 6a.m. local time across Canada.
The strike, while brief, was the third stoppage between CP and its workers in less than six years.
Previous disputes hinged on money matters.
One engineer says this time it was safety and fatigue issues surrounding scheduling.
Shares in CP rose nearly 3% to a record $247.65 per share once the agreement was announced.
