Today is the day fans of Andy Warhol will have a chance to buy two of the artist’s classic pieces.
Christie’s is offering Warhol’s Double Elvis as a highlight of its Evening Sale of Post-War and Contemporary Art this evening in New York. The Elvis paintings that Warhol made in the summer of 1963 are among the defining pieces of his work.
Also on offer, Warhol’s controversial Most Wanted Men, No. 11, John Joseph H., Jr., from 1964.
The two works are expected to fetch upwards of $30-million.
