Just as the city bids farewell to the Yayoi Kusama Infinity Mirrors exhibition at the AGO – a new blockbuster exhibition is coming to Toronto – that’ll likely inspire long line-ups.
The unauthorized exhibition featuring the work of the mysterious British graffitti artist Banksy will make it’s North American debut on June 13th at a warehouse at 213 Sterling Road – in the city’s west end.
The curator is the anonymous Banksy’s former agent Steve Lazarides – who’s gathered more than 80 works from private collections – reportedly valued at over $35 million.
Titled The Art of Banksy – the works have been displayed in Melbourne, Amsterdam, Tel Aviv, Auckland and Berlin – and Lazarides says none of the creations have been taken from public spaces – because street art is done in a short time – and is supposed to be ..here today and gone tomorrow.
Tickets go on sale Saturday May 12th at Ticketmaster.
